We continue to enjoy the last hours of the last day of Summer at Summer's End with a fun ride to Sticks, PA. We rode this ride on Summer's End the past three years and had a great time!
Once we are out of the sticks, we ride Glenville, Wentz, Bachmans Valley before meandering our way back. Snack at mile 22 (Rutters) and at mile 49 (Snickerdoodles). Rolling with hills for about 4100 ft. Download zip file has both pdf cuesheet and garmin .fit course files.
Come join the fun! We will be back well before Autumn begins at 3:50 AM Monday! If Oregon Ridge Lodge is unavailable, we'll start from Oregon Ridge Nature Center.

I chose to offer this ride so I could watch the Ravens-Chiefs game at 1 PM. You can do the full 44 miles or skip a 5-mile loop right before the rest stop and only do 39 miles. The ride is over familiar roads and the rest stop is a High's on Rt. 30. (Phil Feldman: There's a newish Dunkin Donuts directly across from the High's so there are rest stop options!!!)
The 19-mile return has only two notable climbs so the group tends to fly back. Go Ravens!!!
This is one of my favorite rough-road rides. It features a long unpaved road section that follows the east branch of Codorus Creek through Spring Valley Park. We loop back for a return on the rail trail. This ride should not be attempted on a road bike or any bike with narrow tires. Possible lunch after the ride. Meeting place: on the north side of the old rail station that has the café: 117 N. Front St., New Freedom, PA 17327Web Link: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/8735653
Up Stringtown, down Cedar Grove, then instead of Corbett take the nicer Piney Hill Rd to Monkton Rd. Followed by a little something different before we return Sparks Rd to Quaker Bottom. Break at mile 26 - Filling Station Cafe (Yummm) York Rd. 2,500 ft of climb - one of my favorites!
